What is a ‘Special’?
- An unlicensed medicine for a particular disease for which a licensed medicine is not available, e.g. a sugar-free version of a licensed medicine
- The product may or may not have stability data
- The product will not have pharmacokinetics data
- The product will not have toxicity data
- The product will not have undergone a clinical trial
Who takes responsibility for prescribing a ‘Special’?

Why prescribe our ‘Specials’?
We minimise the risk as follows:
- All our products contain active ingredients which have been used in hospitals for many years
- The recommended dose described in each data sheet is evidence based
- All products have stability data and a long shelf-life
- All are palatable to children
- All are free from lactose, sucrose, colourants and TSE
- All are manufactured by contractors with a manufacturing licence to manufacture ‘specials’ to GUP standards
- All have a Certificate of Analysis signed by a Qualified Person

What types of product can you supply?

How can I obtain your ‘special’ medicines?
Our products can only be supplied by your doctor, dentist, nurse or consultant on a prescription-only basis, so you should discuss your ailment with a healthcare professional who can assess the technical data on our website after registration.
How do I open an account?
Opening an account for healthcare professionals is simply a matter of registering online or giving our Sales team a call on 01932 690325. We are able to supply registered pharmacists, doctors and dentists in addition to licensed Wholesale Dealers.
